This post has absolutely nothing to do with finances, but everything to do with you: the reader.
Over the past week I’ve slowly been converting my opt-in email subscription list from Feedburner to AWeber. It’s been an ugly process so far, and it’s caused a lot of subscribers to receive weird, spammy looking emails.
Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.I received an email from a reader a few minutes after those emails were sent out saying “Dude, I think you got hacked”.
He forwarded me a copy of the email he received, and I can understand why he’d say something like that.
Looks pretty spammy to me. Apparently this is the only way to confirm an opt-in subscription.
A bunch of you probably thought “I’m already subscribed, why do I need to re-subscribe?” And many people probably disregarded the email altogether.
You may even be receiving messages TWICE from me if you’re both a Feedburner subscriber, and are now on my AWeber list as well. But, that problem will disappear later this week. (If you’re an RSS subscriber, then all of this crap is transparent to you.)
On Wednesday January 8th, I will be deleting my Feedburner email subscriber list.
If you would like to remain a First Class Johnny Moneyseed subscriber, please make sure to fill out this web form:
Follow the instructions that you receive in your email to confirm your subscription.
I’m switching to this new format, so I can provide better communication with you. Through AWeber, I will be able to send out my brand new posts through email. Visually, they will look way better than the Feedburner emails you may have received in the past.
I will also be able to send you information that may or may not ever make it to the blog. This could include offers, free referrals, invites to meetups, or could just be me saying hi.
In general, this new service is a really good thing. Even though it has caused myself, and many of you, much confusion. At least the future First Class readers won’t have to deal with these issues.
